Rodney Swift, Mid-Florida TPA President, explained his club's decision to join forces with NTPA. Eustis hosted a sanctioned event as early as February 1972, and a "Southern circuit" ran through Florida and Georgia in midwinter months in the mid- to late 1970s. The event marks NTPA's return to the Sunshine State after a 25-year hiatus-Naples and Milton hosted Grand National invitational events in March 1995-but the Associatio n 's history in Florida harkens to its first decade of existence. These classes will follow NTPA safety rules, and as with the national classes, pre-registration via the application on the website is mandatory. The four national classes are open to any competitor whose vehicle meets NTPA rules for construction and safety equipment, but pre-registration is required. Each of these classes will be conducted according to 2022 NTPA Pulling Rules, and NTPA-registered vehicles will accrue points toward potential 2022 championships and/or Enderle berths originating in Region VI. The Mid-Florida Tractor Pullers Association joined the NTPA in spring 2021 as a member state organization and will operate the event with Association-certified tech officials and weight transfers and national-standard contest procedures including tech inspections.ĭivisions to be featured both nights include Limited Light Super Stock and Light Super Stock Tractors, Two-Wheel-Drive Trucks, and Modified Minis. NTPA Championship Pulling is the world's original and number-one circuit for premier-level truck and tractor pulling events. At events across the United States, elite competitors campaign their specialized machines-which resemble farm tractors, trucks, and dragsters-for chances at purse money and precious points toward end-of-season championships. Within a class of similar vehicles, the puller who achieves the greatest distance is victorious. In NTPA Championship Pulling, vehicles drag a 20-ton weight transfer sled along a straight, dirt track as the sled's resistance increases. The two-session, open-entry Regional National event will take place under the pavilion roof on Friday and Saturday, January 28-29, 2022.
